About 35 years ago, Nancy Featherstone handmade her then-boyfriend Donald a short-sleeved shirt to wear in the humid summer heat. She continued to make him shirts, beginning to make her own with the leftover fabric after they were married. Five-year-old Sophia Moss really loves reading. Over the course of the school year, she's read through nearly the entire kindergarten and first-grade sections of her school's library. Her father, Carl, helped her check out five books a week this fall, growing to checking out more than 20 weekly. In addition to her passion for reading, Sophia has already begun writing her first book, a story about a superhero turtle titled "Sophia's Pet."
